Is there a difference between Jackson and Jackson Hole?

The town of Jackson is sometimes mistakenly called Jackson Hole. The latter refers only to the valley in which the former is located, not the town itself.

 

Which airport do I fly into?

For Jackson Hole visitors, the most convenient airport to fly into is Jackson Hole Airport (JAC). Major commercial airlines such as United Airlines, Delta Airlines, Frontier Airlines and American Airlines fly into JAC. There are direct flights into JAC from Denver, Salt Lake City, Chicago O’Hare (seasonal), Dallas/Fort Worth (seasonal), Atlanta (seasonal) and Minneapolis (seasonal).

 

Salt Lake City’s international airport is approximately a six hour drive to Jackson Hole.

 

How far is Yellowstone National Park and Teton National Park from Jackson?

Yellowstone National Park is 56 miles from Jackson and Teton National Park is 12 miles from Jackson. Jackson is the most common place people stay when visiting the nearby National Parks. For a variety of lodging options,  click here.

 

What Kind of Kosher products can I expect to buy in Jackson Hole?

There are two large grocery stores and one health food store in Jackson Hole. Smiths Grocery has a small Kosher section. The section includes grape juice, matzah, jarred gefilte fish, macaroons, tam tams and Shabbos candles. They also sell your typical Kosher products such as fruits & vegetables, cereal, pasta, lox, peanut butter & jelly, eggs, juice etc.

 

Kosher breads and dairy products may be available periodically at Albertsons, Smiths or the Jackson Whole Grocer. Call them to find out what they have in stock.

Is there a Mikvah in Jackson Hole?

Unfortunately, not yet. The closest Mikvah to Jackson Hole is the beautiful brand new one at Chabad of Montana in Bozeman. For an appointment, please call Mrs. Chavi Bruk at 406-585-8770.

The Wyoming Mikvah Fund has been established to raise capital for the construction of Jackson Hole's first Mikvah. Plans are underway to construct a state-of-the-art facility, which will include a luxuriously designed Mikvah, preparation rooms and baths. A lobby and Mikvah Educational Center will welcome and inform first time guests. Privacy and security will be paramount.

We didn’t set the price but can assure you that it’s worth every dime!

Jackson Hole is also home to one of the worlds most beautiful ski resorts. This rich geological and educational opportunity coupled with the most hospitable Western culture is located in but one place in the world... here in Jackson Hole.

 

You may be surprised but the cost of property in Jackson Hole is very expensive. Ninety seven percent of the land here is conserved by the government for natural forest growth and is to remain undeveloped. Another 1% of land is held by private preservation foundations for natural growth and will remain undeveloped. Hence, the current median listing price for a home in Jackson Hole is $1,488,333.00.
