Rabbi Zalman Mendelsohn was raised in Miami Beach, Florida and received a Bachelor’s Degree in Talmudic Study in 2002 from the Rabbinical College of America. He later received his rabbinic ordination from the Central Chabad Rabbinical Council in Israel. From 2004 through 2006, he taught an introductory course in Jewish Philosophy, Biblical Analysis and Talmudic Law at the Rabbinical College of America. His weekly telephone Torah classes attract young and old from around the globe. He also served a number of Jewish communities around the world; including: China, France, Israel, Nepal, Russia, Singapore and Thailand, as well as a number of communities across the United States.
Toronto-born Raizy Mendelsohn moved with her family to Ramat Bet Shemesh, Israel at the age of 12. She graduated from the prestigious Beth Chana Seminary in Safed, Israel with a degree in Childhood Education. From 2005 through 2007, she directed the Camp Gan Israel of Queens, for Jewish children. She also directed the Friendship Circle of Queens and reached out to help more than 100 children with special needs and their families. Her service transcended barriers of race, color and creed. As a Jewish educator she has led study sessions for women highlighting the beauty and spirituality inherent in Judaism, in Canada, Israel, Russia, Ukraine and the United States.
Rabbi Zalman and Raizy Mendelsohn are the proud parents of seven wonderful children.
